What is an e-Ration Card? 🇮🇳

An e-Ration Card is the digital, PDF version of the traditional physical ration card, issued by state governments under India's Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs. It is fully valid for collecting subsidised food grains - rice, wheat, sugar, and kerosene - from government Fair Price Shops (FPS) under the Public Distribution System (PDS).

Under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) 2013, over 80 crore Indians are entitled to subsidised foodgrains. The e-Ration Card introduced as part of the Digital India initiative lets beneficiaries download their card as a PDF anytime, check ration card status, and carry it digitally - no government office visit needed.

AAY Card

Antyodaya Anna Yojana - for the poorest families. 35 kg of foodgrains per month at highly subsidised rates.

PHH Card

Priority Household - for BPL families. 5 kg per person per month under the National Food Security Act.
